Rishta in Kamalia

A handloom town older than the colony around it — which makes two things worth writing on a profile here that most families leave off: the craft, and whether you are from the town or the chaks.

An old town in a young countryside

Kamalia is a tehsil town of Toba Tek Singh district, and unlike most of the places around it, it was not made by the canal. The town was here long before the colony chaks were laid out in the countryside beside it, and the land around it is Kharral country — this is the tract Rai Ahmad Khan Kharral came from. What the town is known for nationally is khaddar: hand-woven cloth, still made on household looms and still sold under this town's name. Toba Tek Singh is about forty kilometres away, Gojra a similar distance, Pirmahal closer, Chichawatni across toward the Ravi, and Faisalabad ninety or so to the north. In the town the roads families name are Pirmahal Road, Chichawatni Road and Model Town.

The names here reflect both the old town and the newer chaks. Kharral above all in this tract, with Jat lines such as Sial, Thaheem, Dhudhi and Lar, and Rajput names including Bhatti, Joiya, Wattu and Kathia; Arain and Kamboh households from the colony grants; Gujjar, Awan, Sheikh, Khokhar and Mughal families; Ansari households in the weaving trade; and Syed and Qureshi families carrying their own standing. Caste, biradari, sect and mother tongue are open fields on every profile, so you can match on them before you approach rather than after.

On ByahMe, a Kamalia profile shows everything a family actually needs to judge a match: age, height, education, profession, caste and biradari, sect, family type, father’s occupation, and written partner preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those unlock only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging, no back-and-forth with strangers.

What makes a Kamalia search different

If she works on the khaddar, that is a skill — write it down

Handloom cloth is not made by one person at a loom. It is made by a household: spinning and winding, warping, the weaving itself, then washing, finishing and folding. In Kamalia a great deal of that work is done by women, at home, as part of the family's trade — and almost none of it reaches a matrimonial profile, because the form offers homemaker and the family ticks it.

That undersells her, and it tells the other side nothing. Homemaker could mean anything. Works on the family's khaddar — spinning and finishing, eight years tells a serious family that she has a skill, that she has worked steadily, and that she comes from a household where women's work is ordinary rather than hidden. Any of those three may be exactly what the other side is looking for, and none of them can be guessed.

So write it, in the occupation field or in the written preferences — the craft, the part of it she does, and roughly how long. The same goes for stitching, embroidery, a sewing machine run from home, a tuition class, poultry or livestock kept behind the house. These are real occupations and they are what a great many women in this town actually do.

And there is a second thing that line settles quietly. A groom's family that does not want a daughter-in-law working will see it and say so now; one that does will see it and be glad. Either way the conversation happens at the right time, which is before anybody is attached.

Own loom, or job-work for a dealer?

On a profile from this town, khaddar or weaving covers two quite different economic positions, and the gap between them is wide. A household with its own looms, buying its own yarn and selling finished cloth to traders or in its own shop, is running a business and carries both the risk and the margin. A household doing job-work — weaving on a dealer's yarn to a dealer's order, paid by the piece — is doing skilled labour at a rate somebody else sets. Both are respectable. They are not the same proposal.

So ask the specific questions: own looms or somebody else's, and how many? Power looms, handlooms, or both? Own yarn or the dealer's? Is there a shop, and is it owned or rented? Is the cloth sold under the family's own name? And then the honest one — the handloom trade has been squeezed for years by mill cloth and power looms, so what else does the household have alongside it: land, a shop, a salaried son, work in Faisalabad, money from the Gulf?

Most families here will answer all of that without hesitation, because they live it. Writing it unprompted reads as confidence. Leaving business or weaving on its own invites a reader to assume the weaker version.

The town and the chaks are two different pools

Because Kamalia town is older than the countryside around it, this tehsil holds two sets of families that do not entirely mix. The old town has its mohallas, its weaving and trading families and its own biradari map. The chaks around it were allotted when the canal came, and those households came in from elsewhere a century ago. Families here read town and chak as different things, and in practice a good many matches stay on one side or the other.

Neither is better and plenty of matches cross between them. But a profile that says only Kamalia has left out the thing a local elder uses to place a household in one sentence. So write which: the mohalla or the quarter if you are in the town, the chak number with its branch letter if you are in the countryside. And if you are searching, run Pirmahal as a separate name — it is its own tehsil now and families there write it — and remember Chichawatni, across toward the Ravi, sits in Sahiwal district rather than this one.

What the town does for work, written plainly

Khaddar and the cloth trade first, on handlooms and power looms, with the dyeing, finishing, stitching and shop trade around it. Farming on the chak land — wheat, cotton, sugarcane, maize and fodder — with dairy and livestock. The bazaar, the grain market and transport. Teaching, health and government service. And then the two places the work has gone: Faisalabad, ninety kilometres north, whose mills and workshops have taken a great many young men from this town; and the Gulf, which has taken a great many more. That matters for a search as much as for an income, because it means a fair number of the men a Kamalia family would consider are no longer listed in Kamalia. On women's profiles from here teaching comes up most, with the household craft work described above, health work and stitching behind it.

Searching Kamalia profiles

Member details are never published on a public page. Register free and the search opens with full biodata on every profile.

Filter down to Kamalia

Set the city and you see only Kamalia profiles — then run Pirmahal and Toba Tek Singh, and open Faisalabad, where a great many young men from this town now work.

Full biodata, openly

Education, profession, biradari, sect, family type, parents’ occupations and written preferences are all visible to members. Nothing important is held back behind a paywall.

Photos stay locked

Nobody in Kamalia or anywhere else sees a photograph or a number until that member personally taps Accept. That rule has no exceptions and no administrative override.

Profiles connected to Kamalia

The six questions a Kamalia family asks first

Biradari

Kharral in this tract above all; Sial, Thaheem, Dhudhi, Lar; Bhatti, Joiya, Wattu, Kathia; Arain, Kamboh, Gujjar, Awan, Sheikh, Khokhar, Mughal; Ansari; Syed and Qureshi.

Town or chak

The mohalla if you are in the town, the chak number with its branch letter if you are outside it. Here that is how families place each other.

The looms

Own or a dealer's, how many, handloom or power loom, own yarn or job-work, and whether the cloth is sold under the family's own name.

What else there is

Land, a shop, a salary, work in Faisalabad, money from the Gulf. The handloom trade has been squeezed, so the spread matters.

Her skill, named

Spinning, weaving, finishing, stitching, embroidery, teaching, a tuition class, livestock. Homemaker on its own says nothing.

Sect

An open field on every profile, so apply it early rather than discovering the difference at the third meeting when both families have started to assume.

Rishta questions from Kamalia

Do you have rishta profiles in Kamalia?
Yes, and the list changes every week as new members join and matched members close their profiles. Rather than quote a number that would be out of date by the time you read it, we would rather you register free and look for yourself. You can also widen the search to the rest of Punjab, or to all of Pakistan, from the same filter panel.
Can I see photos of Kamalia profiles before registering?
No. Photos stay locked on every profile, in Kamalia and everywhere else. You register, find a profile that fits, and send a photo request. The member sees who you are and decides. That single rule is why families trust us with their daughters’ pictures.
I live in Kamalia but want a rishta from Pakistan. Is that possible?
Yes, and it is one of the most common searches on the site. Set your own city as Kamalia and set your partner preference country to Pakistan. You will see profiles from every Pakistani city, filtered by caste, sect, education and family background.
Do you charge extra for members in Kamalia?
No. One price worldwide, in Pakistani rupees. A family anywhere pays exactly what a family in Lahore pays, by bank transfer, JazzCash or Easypaisa (card payment is built but not switched on yet). And during the launch period membership is free for everyone.
Is there any messaging or chat with Kamalia members?
None at all. We are not a dating app. Once a WhatsApp request is accepted, the two families talk on WhatsApp directly, the way a rishta has always been arranged. We introduce, then we step back.
Do you accept second marriage, divorced and widowed profiles from Kamalia?
Yes, on exactly the same terms as everyone else. Divorced, widowed, khula, separated and those seeking a second marriage are listed identically, with no separate section and no marker on the profile. Marital status is a field members filter on, not a category we sort people into.
What professions do Kamalia members work in?
Every kind. Our profession list runs to more than three hundred entries across twenty groups, from surgeon and software engineer to welder, farmer, tailor, driver, shopkeeper and homemaker. In Kamalia the ones that come up most are khaddar weaving and the cloth trade, dyeing, finishing and stitching, farming on the chak land with dairy and livestock, the bazaar and grain market, transport, teaching, health and government service, mill and workshop work in Faisalabad, and Gulf employment.
How do I know a Kamalia profile is genuine?
Two things are checked here and we will name both. Every member confirms the email address they registered with, and our rishta consultants review profiles after they are published. That is the whole of it — a mobile number is collected so it can be released when you accept a request, but it is never verified, and we do not collect CNICs at all. A careful read catches a profile that contradicts itself; it is no guarantee that a member’s identity, background, family or circumstances are as described. Beyond those two checks, verification is yours to do, and we would rather say so than sell you a badge that means nothing. Ask for documents, speak to references, and insist on a video call before any meeting.

Searching from Kamalia, in practice

Four towns in the district, then Faisalabad

Set your city to Kamalia and leave the country filter on Pakistan, then run the district's other towns as their own searches — Pirmahal, Toba Tek Singh and Gojra — because families there write their own town rather than the district.

Then open Faisalabad, and open it properly. A great many young men from this town are working in Faisalabad's mills, workshops and bazaars, and they are listed where they live rather than where they are from. If you are looking for a groom from a Kamalia background, a meaningful share of that pool is ninety kilometres north. After that, Sahiwal and Chichawatni across toward the Ravi, and Jhang to the west.

Filter biradari and sect first if those matter to your family, then the work. And when you read the work, read it for the detail this page asks for — own looms or job-work, and what the household has besides the cloth.

If the proposal involves the Gulf

The Gulf has taken men from this town for two generations, so these proposals are common and most are exactly what they appear to be. Set the residency field to citizen or permanent resident for genuine settled residence abroad, and read a work visa as the separate thing it is: the months a year he is in Pakistan, how many more years he means to stay on it, and who decides about money and the children meanwhile.

Two questions belong to a craft household in particular. Who runs the looms or the shop while he is away — and is the honest answer the women of the house? That is a perfectly normal arrangement here and worth saying rather than leaving her to discover the workload. And where would she live: in the town, in the chak with his parents, or in rooms behind the business? All three happen and they are three different lives.

What is open on every Kamalia profile

  • Age, height, marital status and children
  • Sect, biradari and mother tongue
  • City, area and residency status
  • Education, field of study and profession
  • Family type, family class, parents' occupations, siblings
  • Written partner preferences, in their own words

What stays locked

  • Photographs, until that member accepts your request
  • The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
  • The email address and the exact address, always

Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.

Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
