Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and ByahMe. Please read clauses 9 to 14 carefully — they set out what we are and are not responsible for, and they limit our liability to you.
Version: 2026-09-16 · Last updated: 16 September 2026 · Operator: ByahMe · Governing law: Islamic Republic of Pakistan · Contact: inquiry@byahme.com
1. Definitions
"We", "us", "our" and "the Service" mean ByahMe, operating at https://www.byahme.com. "You", "your", "Member" and "User" mean any person who registers, browses, or otherwise uses the Service, including a parent or guardian registering on behalf of an adult family member. "Profile" means the listing created by a Member. "Content" means anything a Member submits: text, photographs, preferences, contact details. "Request" means a photo request or a connection (number) request. "Token" means a connection token as described in clause 7.
2. What this Service is, and what it is not
ByahMe is a self-service online platform on which adults publish matrimonial profiles and send one another structured requests. That is the entirety of what we provide.
We are not:
- a marriage bureau, matchmaker, rishta agent, or broker;
- a background-checking, screening, vetting or investigation service;
- a counsellor, adviser, legal adviser, financial adviser or immigration adviser;
- a party to any introduction, courtship, engagement, nikah or marriage that results from the Service;
- an escrow, guarantor, referee or intermediary in any dealing between Members.
We do not meet Members. We do not interview them. We do not visit their homes, verify their families, inspect their property, confirm their income, or authenticate their intentions. We have no knowledge of any Member beyond what that Member has typed into a form.
3. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years of age or older. This is an absolute minimum and applies regardless of the marriage laws of your country or province. We check the date of birth you enter and refuse any registration below this age, but we cannot and do not verify that the date entered is true.
- You must be legally free to marry under the law applicable to you.
- If a second marriage is intended, you confirm that every legal requirement has been satisfied, including, where Pakistani law applies, the written permission of the existing wife obtained through the Arbitration Council under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance 1961. Obtaining that permission is entirely your responsibility and we do not check it.
- You must not be legally prohibited from using an online service of this kind in your jurisdiction.
- If you register on behalf of another adult, you confirm you have their express, informed consent, and you accept these terms on their behalf as well as your own.
- One person may hold one account. Duplicate accounts will be removed without refund.
4. Your account and your security
- You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by anyone you allow to use it.
- Keep your password confidential. We will never ask you for it. Anyone emailing you claiming to be from ByahMe and asking for a password is defrauding you.
- Tell us immediately at support@byahme.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
- We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
5. Your Content, and your responsibility for it
You are solely responsible for everything you publish. You warrant that all of it is true, accurate, current and not misleading, and specifically that you have not misrepresented your age, marital status, existing marriage, children, education, employment, income, immigration status, health, criminal history, caste, sect, or family circumstances.
You warrant that you own or have the right to use every photograph you upload, that it depicts the person the profile is for, and that any other identifiable person shown has consented.
You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display your Content for the sole purpose of operating the Service. We do not sell your Content, licence it to third parties, or use it for advertising. This licence ends when your Content is deleted.
Misrepresentation is grounds for immediate removal without refund, and may expose you to legal action by the Member you deceived. We are not a party to that dispute and will not fund, defend or mediate it, though we will comply with any lawful order from a court of competent jurisdiction.
6. Privacy, photographs and contact details
- Photographs and contact numbers are hidden by default and are released only when the owning Member personally accepts a Request.
- Photo access is one-directional. Number access is mutual — accepting a connection request discloses your number to that Member and theirs to you. By accepting, you consent to that disclosure.
- Photographs released to another Member are watermarked with that Member's identifier. Copying, saving, redistributing, publishing or reverse-searching another Member's photographs is strictly prohibited and is grounds for permanent removal and, potentially, criminal liability under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
- We cannot control what another Member does with information you have chosen to give them. Once you accept a request, that information has left our systems and entered theirs. A watermark deters; it does not prevent. Consider carefully before accepting, and do not share anything you would be unable to bear becoming public.
7. Membership, tokens and payment
- Membership is sold as a single fixed-term package. The price, duration and number of connection tokens are shown on the pricing page and may be changed by us at any time for future purchases. Changes never affect a membership already active.
- A photo request costs no token. A connection request holds one token, which is consumed if the recipient accepts and returned in full if they decline or do not respond within seven days.
- Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold, gifted or exchanged, and cannot be redeemed for money under any circumstances.
- Unused days are lost when the term ends and are never added to a new term; buying again always starts a fresh full term from the day of purchase.
- Unused tokens are held for the grace period stated on the pricing page after a membership ends. Renew inside that window and they are added to the new ones; let it pass and they are cleared, and we email you before that happens.
- During any free launch or promotional period, a membership granted at no charge is subject to these terms in the same way as a paid one. Nothing is owed for it and nothing is refundable from it.
- Payment is processed through third-party providers. We do not store card details. Their terms apply to the payment transaction itself.
- Membership does not auto-renew and we do not retain a payment instrument.
- Prices are in Pakistani Rupees. Currency conversion, bank charges and international transfer fees are yours.
8. No refunds
All payments are final and non-refundable, with the single exception set out in the refund policy: money that reached us through a mistake of our own for which no membership was given. Access to the member database is granted immediately and in full on activation, and cannot be returned. By paying, you expressly request immediate commencement of the service. Where the mandatory consumer law applicable to you grants a cancellation right that cannot be excluded by contract, that right is unaffected and nothing here asks you to give it up.
No refund is given, in whole or in part, for any of the following, which are listed so there can be no misunderstanding later:
- not finding a match, or not finding a match you consider suitable;
- receiving no requests, or fewer than you hoped;
- having your requests declined, ignored or left to expire;
- the number of profiles available in your city, country, caste, sect or profession;
- another Member proving dishonest, unsuitable, unserious, or a time-waster;
- an engagement or marriage that does not proceed, or that ends;
- a change of mind, a change of circumstance, or a family decision;
- a mistake of your own in paying — paying twice, paying the wrong amount, or paying from the wrong account. A duplicate payment is credited to your account as connection tokens, not returned as money;
- an interruption to the Service, which is restored rather than refunded;
- unused tokens or unused days remaining at the end of the term;
- removal or suspension of your account for breach of these terms;
- your inability to access the Service due to your own device, connection or local restrictions.
See our full refund policy. Initiating a chargeback for a service properly delivered is a breach of these terms and will result in permanent removal.
9. EDITORIAL REVIEW ONLY — NO VERIFICATION, NO BACKGROUND CHECKS, NO ENDORSEMENT
This clause is the most important in this agreement.
We do not conduct criminal record checks, background checks, credit checks, immigration checks, employment verification, income verification, medical or psychological screening, or any form of investigation into any Member.
We perform two checks, and neither is verification of any Member.
One: the email address. A registration is not published until a link sent to that address is clicked. That confirms one narrow technical fact — that somebody could open that inbox on that day — and nothing whatsoever about the person, their name, their age, their family, their marital status, their job or their intentions.
Two: an editorial review, and it happens after publication. A rishta consultant reads each profile once it is live, and reads it again when a Member changes it substantially, for internal consistency, duplication, copied wording, commercial or agency use, and material that is abusive, indecent or otherwise in breach of these terms. We may edit, require correction of, suspend or remove any profile on that basis at our discretion, and we are under no obligation to do so in any particular case or within any particular time. That review is an editorial judgment on text a Member has written. It is not verification, investigation, screening, authentication or endorsement, and it is no guarantee that any Member’s identity, background, family, marital status, employment or circumstances are as described. It creates no duty of care to any Member or third party, and no Member may rely on it as confirmation that another Member is who they say they are. Each Member warrants that everything they publish is true, current and their own.
We do not issue verification badges. We do not ask for, receive, store or review identity documents, and we do not send codes to telephones. Any badge, tick or wording anywhere suggesting that a Member has been verified beyond their email address would be wrong, and you should not rely on one.
The presence of a Profile on this Service is not a recommendation, endorsement, approval or certification of that person, their family, their claims, their intentions or their suitability.
10. YOUR ASSUMPTION OF RISK
You acknowledge and agree that you use the Service entirely at your own risk, and that you alone are responsible for evaluating every person you encounter through it. You expressly assume all risk arising from any interaction with any Member, online, by telephone, by WhatsApp, in person, or through your families, including but not limited to:
- fraud, deception, catfishing, impersonation, fake or stolen photographs, and fake profiles;
- misrepresentation of age, marital status, an existing marriage, children, education, employment, income, wealth, property, immigration status, health or criminal history;
- financial loss of any kind, including money lent, gifted, advanced, invested, sent for a visa, ticket, medical emergency, business difficulty or dowry, and any loss arising from a scam;
- loss of, or damage to, property, possessions, jewellery or gold;
- time wasted, opportunities missed, or other proposals declined in reliance on a Member;
- harassment, stalking, threats, intimidation, blackmail, coercion or extortion;
- emotional distress, mental anguish, anxiety, depression, humiliation, reputational damage, loss of honour or standing in your community;
- physical injury, assault, or harm of any kind occurring at or arising from any meeting;
- damage to family relationships, breakdown of an engagement, marriage or existing relationship;
- any contact made for dating, casual, immoral or non-matrimonial purposes contrary to these terms;
- disclosure, misuse, copying or publication of photographs or information you chose to share;
- and any other loss, damage, injury or consequence whatsoever, whether or not of a kind listed above.
We are not responsible for any of it. We do not supervise Member conduct off the platform, we have no ability to do so, and we accept no duty to do so. Any meeting you arrange is arranged by you, on your own judgement, at your own risk.
We strongly urge you to read our safety guidance before contacting anyone, to verify independently, to involve your family, to meet only in public or in the presence of family, and never to send money to anyone for any reason.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses; that any Content is accurate; that any Member is who they claim to be; that you will receive any requests, responses or introductions; or that you will find a match, an engagement or a marriage. We promise no outcome of any kind.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
(a) We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profit, income, savings, opportunity, data, goodwill or reputation, however caused.
(b) We are not liable for any act or omission of any Member or third party, whether occurring on the Service or anywhere else.
(c) Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims, arising from any cause and on any theory of liability, shall not exceed the total amount you actually paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or the price of one membership as published on the pricing page at the date of the event, whichever is lower. Where you have paid us nothing, including during any free launch period, our liability is nil.
(d) These limits apply even if we were advised of the possibility of such loss, and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.
(e) Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for our own fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law applicable to you does not permit some of the exclusions above, they apply to the maximum extent that law allows, and the remainder stand.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless ByahMe, its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: your use of the Service; your Content; your breach of these terms; your misrepresentation of yourself or anyone you register; your conduct towards any Member; or any dispute between you and any Member or their family.
14. Disputes between Members
Any dispute between Members is a matter between those Members. We are not a party to it, we will not arbitrate it, and we will not mediate it. We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or remove an account following a complaint, and we may preserve and disclose records where required by a lawful order of a court or a legitimate request from a law-enforcement agency. Doing so is not an admission of liability and creates no duty to act in any other case.
You release us from all claims, demands and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with any dispute between you and any other Member.
15. Prohibited conduct
You must not, and must not attempt to:
- use the Service for dating, casual relationships, hookups, or any purpose other than seeking marriage;
- solicit money, loans, investment, gifts, dowry or financial assistance from any Member;
- promote a business, product, service, agency or any other website;
- impersonate anyone, create a profile for a person who has not consented, or create a profile for a person under 18;
- conceal an existing marriage, divorce, children, or any other material fact;
- harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, defame, blackmail or intimidate any Member;
- send sexual, obscene, hateful, violent or discriminatory content;
- copy, save, screenshot, publish, redistribute or reverse-search another Member's photographs;
- collect, scrape, harvest, index, copy or bulk-download Member data by any means, manual or automated;
- use bots, scripts, crawlers or automated tools against the Service;
- attempt to breach, probe or circumvent our security, access controls or photo protection;
- create multiple accounts, or return after removal using a new identity;
- demand or accept dowry, or publish dowry expectations;
- use the Service for immigration fraud, a sham marriage, or any unlawful purpose.
16. Suspension and removal
We may suspend or permanently remove any account, at our sole discretion, with or without notice and without refund, where we believe these terms have been breached, where a credible complaint has been made, or where we consider removal necessary to protect other Members. We are not obliged to explain our reasons and are not liable for any loss arising from removal.
Profiles that have not been accessed for the period stated in the privacy policy are deleted automatically, with prior warning by email, together with their photographs.
17. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time. We do not guarantee uptime and are not liable for interruptions, whether caused by maintenance, hosting failure, network failure, cyber-attack, power loss, government action, natural disaster or any other event beyond our reasonable control.
18. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, code, text, structure, database and branding are our property and are protected by copyright and trade-mark law. You may not copy, reproduce, adapt or create derivative works from any part of it.
19. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms at any time. The current version is always published here with its version string and date.
When the version changes, a registered Member is asked to accept the new one the next time they sign in, and the member area is not available until they do. That acceptance is recorded with the version, the date and the address it came from. We will also email registered Members about any material change.
If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using the Service and to ask us to remove your profile. No refund arises.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The courts at Lahore, Pakistan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you submit to that jurisdiction. Where the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence grants you rights that cannot be excluded by contract, those rights are unaffected and this clause applies subject to them.
21. General
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remainder continues in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
- Entire agreement. These terms, with the privacy policy, refund policy and safety guidance, form the entire agreement between us.
- No third-party rights. No person other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- Language. These terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience and the English text prevails.
- Assignment. You may not assign your account or rights. We may assign ours on a transfer of the business.
