Refund and cancellation policy
Stated here rather than buried in the terms, because you should know before you pay. Last updated 2 October 2026.
1. When the fee becomes final
What you buy is access to the profile database for a fixed term. It is not a result, and nobody can promise one.
You pay on the payment provider’s own secure page. The provider confirms the payment to us, the membership activates, the term and the connection tokens are issued, and a confirmation email is sent to you. From that moment the fee is final, because from that moment the whole service is open to you.
2. If a payment does not go through
If the provider declines a payment or cannot complete it, no membership is issued and nothing reaches us. Whatever your bank or wallet is holding is a matter between you and them, and it clears on their timetable rather than ours. There is nothing here for us to refund, because we were never paid.
3. No refund is given for
Listed in full, so that nobody meets one of these for the first time in the middle of an argument.
- Anything caused by your own mistake — paying twice, paying the wrong amount, paying from the wrong account, or buying a membership you did not mean to buy. A double payment is handled by section 4 and is not refunded.
- Not finding a suitable match.
- Dissatisfaction with the number, type or quality of profiles available.
- Requests being declined, ignored, or left to expire by other members.
- Choosing not to use the membership after it has been activated.
- Unused days remaining on a term, including where you marry or find a match early.
- Unused connection tokens.
- Removal of your profile for a breach of the terms.
- Deleting your own account before the term ends.
- A change of mind, a change of circumstance, or a family decision.
- An interruption to the service. See section 5.
None of these are refused in order to be difficult. In every one of them the service was delivered in full and was there to be used, and what did not go your way is the outcome, not the access.
4. If you pay twice, you get the connections — not the money
A second payment is not a mistake of ours, so it is not refunded. It is credited, and it credits itself.
Every payment adds a full allowance of connection tokens to your account the moment the payment provider confirms it. Pay twice and you are holding twice the connections. Not one rupee of it is lost, nobody has to add it by hand, and there is nothing to write in and ask for — it is already on your dashboard by the time you look.
So a duplicate payment is not a problem to be sorted out between us. It is a second top-up, bought a little sooner than you meant to buy it, and the connections are yours to use across the whole of your term.
5. If the service is interrupted
An interruption is not a refund. If the site is slow, failing or down, it is being worked on, and the answer is to wait for it to come back.
A membership is measured in days, and the service would have to be unavailable for a very long stretch before a day of it was meaningfully lost. Where that does happen we would far rather give you the days back than the money, and we may do so.
6. The one thing we do refund: our own mistake
If money reached us because of a fault at our end, and no membership was given for it, we return it. That is the only case.
Every claim is investigated in full before anything is paid out. That is not a delaying tactic — it is the only thing standing between an honest member and the people who make a living out of claiming refunds they are not owed.
We do not put a date on it. A payment trace runs through a bank or a wallet provider on their timetable, not ours, and promising you seven days or ten would be promising something we do not control. It is returned as soon as the investigation is finished, and if you ask where it has reached, we will tell you.
How the money comes back. To the same place it came from, and by the same route. We do not send a refund to a different account from the one that paid, whoever asks, because that is how an account takeover is turned into cash. Email billing@byahme.com with your profile ID and the transaction reference to start.
7. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you raise a chargeback or a dispute with your bank or wallet provider instead of writing to us, your profile is suspended for as long as the dispute runs, and we supply the provider with the record of your registration, your acceptance of the terms with its timestamp and IP address, your activation record, and the activity log showing the service was used.
If the dispute is upheld in your favour, that is the end of it and the money is yours. If it is found to be unjustified, the account is closed permanently and you will not be able to register again.
We would far rather you wrote to us first. A chargeback on a membership that was delivered costs us a fee and costs you an account.
8. Cancellation
There is nothing to cancel to avoid a future charge. Memberships do not renew automatically, no card is stored, and no standing instruction is set up. When a term ends, it simply ends.
You can stop using the service at any time, hide your profile from search at any time, or delete your account entirely from your dashboard. Deleting your account deletes your photographs from our server and does not refund the remaining days. If you only want a pause, clear the Show my profile in search results checkbox on My profile instead — your account and your history stay exactly as they are.
9. Buying again: the tokens add up, the clock restarts
You can buy as often as you like and whenever you like — the moment your connections run out, or long before. It is the same single membership every time: Rs 3,000 for 10 connections and 90 days.
- Connection tokens add up. A new purchase does not replace what you are holding, it adds to it. Four left when you buy again and you have fourteen. Nothing is wiped, nothing is forfeited, and nothing has to be claimed from us — the tokens are there as soon as the payment is confirmed.
- The term runs a fresh 90 days from the day you pay. It restarts rather than extending, so days still left on the old term are not added on top. You are never worse off for it, because a term can never have more than 90 days to run in any case — but there is nothing to gain in days by buying early either.
- Tokens left when a term ends are held for a short grace period, then cleared. Buy again inside that window and they are still yours, added to the new ones. You are emailed before they go.
None of this is refundable, and none of it is a fault — it is simply how a term works, and it is written here so that nobody meets it for the first time on the day it matters.
10. There is one membership, so there are no upgrades
We sell a single membership. There is no higher tier to move up to and no lower tier to move down to, so there is no upgrade price to pay and no downgrade to request. If anyone contacts you offering a premium ByahMe tier, a featured listing or a priority match for a fee, it is not us. Report it to complaints@byahme.com.
11. Your statutory rights
Where you live in a country whose mandatory consumer law grants a cancellation or cooling-off right that cannot be excluded by contract, that right is unaffected by this policy and nothing here asks you to give it up. In most such jurisdictions the right is lost once you expressly request immediate commencement of a digital service and the service begins, which is what happens when a membership is activated. If you are unsure of your position, contact us before paying rather than after.
12. Reaching a person about a payment
Write to billing@byahme.com with your profile ID, the amount, the date and the transaction reference. A person reads it and replies within one working day, Monday to Saturday. If the matter is not about money, the contact page lists the right address for it.
