Rishta in Faisalabad
A city barely older than its grandparents, where every family still knows which district it came from and which chak it was given.
A city with a founding date, and families who remember it
Faisalabad is not an old city. It was laid out as Lyallpur in the 1890s, eight bazaars radiating from the Clock Tower, and the surrounding land was handed to settlers brought in from the districts that are now across the border — Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur — along with families from Sialkot and Gujrat. That is only four or five generations ago, and it is still live in a rishta conversation here. Families know which district they came from, and many will tell you before they tell you which colony they live in now.
The biradaris that came with those allotments still hold: Arain and Jat above all, then Kamboh, Rajput, Gujjar, Dogar, Awan, Sheikh, Ansari, Syed and Baloch along the river. The land came with numbers rather than names, which is why a great many families here identify by chak — 224 RB, 45 GB, and every other combination of Rakh, Gugera and Jhang Branch — and why that number belongs in your profile.

What makes a Faisalabad search different
The chak tells you more than the address
City neighbourhoods here are recent — Peoples Colony, Madina Town, Gulberg, Susan Road, Canal Road, D Ground, Batala Colony — and a family may have moved into one of them within living memory. The chak number has not moved. It carries the canal branch, the land, usually the biradari and often the original district, all in three characters. A Faisalabad family reads it instantly. Put it in the written section along with the tehsil — Jaranwala, Samundri, Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra, Sammundri — and half the enquiry is already answered.
"Business" is not an answer here, it is a question
This is the country's textile city and most of it is not the big mills. It is power looms in Ghulam Muhammadabad and off Jhang Road, sizing and processing units on Sudhar and Khurrianwala Road, yarn traders and commission agents in the cloth markets, job-work sheds of four looms and twenty, and above them the export houses out on Jaranwala Road. A man with four looms and a man with an export licence will both say "business", and they are not remotely the same proposition for a bride's family.
So write what it actually is. How many looms, or whether it is sizing, processing, printing or stitching. Job work or your own product. Local sale or export. Yours or your father's. The profession field on ByahMe is free text rather than a dropdown precisely so this can be said properly, and in this city saying it properly saves everybody a wasted meeting. The same applies to the land: acres or murabbas, owned or on lease, wheat and sugarcane or vegetables for the Lahore market.
Where the degree came from
The Agriculture University is one of the oldest in the country and shapes a good part of the district's professional class. The National Textile University is here too, and a textile engineer from NTU is a specific and well-understood proposition in Faisalabad in a way that the word "engineer" is not. Add Government College University Faisalabad and Faisalabad Medical University and you have most of what a local family will recognise by name. Write the institution out rather than the level.
Most searches start inside the khandaan
Marriage within the extended family is common across this district, and so, in the rural tehsils and towards Jhang, are exchange arrangements between two families. Neither is unusual and neither is something this site is built against — families here generally come to a service like ours once the khandaan has been worked through and the answer is still no. If an exchange is part of what you are proposing, put it in the written preferences at the start. It is a fair thing to want and an unfair thing to raise at the third sitting.
Faisalabad's families abroad
One cotton district went to another. The Faisalabad link in Britain runs through the northern mill towns and the cities beside them — Nelson, Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham, Blackburn, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham. It is a real stream, though a narrower one than the Mirpuri movement that built most of the British Pakistani population, so search those towns closely rather than broadly.
The Gulf matters at least as much and is often overlooked. Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Oman have taken technical and textile workers from this district for forty years, and a great many Faisalabad families have a son there now. Set the country filter and then the residency field — a work visa in Sharjah and Canadian permanent residency are entirely different propositions, and the difference decides how long a rukhsati waits and where the couple will actually live.
What a Faisalabad profile shows you is everything needed to judge all of that: age, height, education, profession written out, biradari, sect, area or chak, residency status, family type, family standing, father's occupation, siblings and written preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those move only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging.

Filter down to Faisalabad
Set the city and you see only Faisalabad profiles. When the list gets short, widen to Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra or Sargodha before you loosen the biradari — the canal colony settled that whole belt together.
Full biodata, openly
Education, profession, biradari, sect, family type, parents’ occupations and written preferences are all visible to members. Nothing important is held back behind a paywall.
Photos stay locked
Nobody in Faisalabad or anywhere else sees a photograph or a number until that member personally taps Accept. That rule has no exceptions and no administrative override.
Profiles connected to Faisalabad
The six questions a Faisalabad family asks first
A trading city's list, in a trading city's order. All six are answered on the profile before you approach anybody.
Biradari
Arain and Jat first, then Kamboh, Rajput, Gujjar, Dogar, Awan, Sheikh, Ansari, Syed. Held firmly here, and open on every profile so you filter before you approach.
Which chak, which tehsil
224 RB, 45 GB, Jaranwala, Samundri, Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra. Carries the land, the branch and often the biradari in one line. City colonies are recent; the chak is not.
What the business actually is
Looms and how many, sizing, processing, yarn trading, commission agency, export house — or acres and murabbas. "Business" on its own tells a family nothing.
His or his father's
Whether the young man runs it, works in it, or is expected to join it later. Father's occupation is a separate field because in this city it is asked just as often.
Anyone abroad, and on what status
The Gulf for technical and textile work, Britain in the northern mill towns. Citizen, permanent resident, work visa or student visa — four different answers.
Sect
Sunni or Shia, and within that Barelvi, Deobandi or Ahle Hadith. Written down rather than raised in conversation, which is how most families here prefer it.

Searching from Faisalabad, in practice
If you are looking in the district and around it
Filter on biradari first, then sect, then read the chak and the tehsil before anything else. Profession fourth, and read it properly rather than taking "business" at face value. Age last.
Then widen the map before you loosen the biradari. Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh, Gojra, Sargodha and Jaranwala are all short drives and the same biradaris run through every one of them — the canal colony settled the whole belt at once. Lahore is two hours down the motorway and a great many Faisalabad business families already have relatives there.
If you are looking abroad from Faisalabad
The Gulf first, because that is where this district's people actually are — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman. Then the northern English towns, searched closely: Nelson, Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham, Blackburn, Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham.
Set the residency field, and settle the visa timeline in writing before the first sitting. A Gulf work visa rarely leads to the family joining him; permanent residency in Canada or Britain usually does. Those are different marriages, and both sides should know which one is on offer.
What is open on every Faisalabad profile
- Age, height, marital status and children
- Biradari, sect, subsect and mother tongue
- Area or chak, and residency status if abroad
- Education and profession, written out in full
- Family type, family standing, parents' occupations, siblings
- Written partner preferences, in their own words
What stays locked
- Photographs, until that member accepts your request
- The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
- The email address and the exact address, always
Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.
Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
