Rishta in Gojra
A Lower Chenab colony town where the address is a chak number — and a chak number without its branch letter is only half an address.
A colony town where the address is a number
Gojra is a tehsil town of Toba Tek Singh district, laid out with the rest of the Lower Chenab colony when the canal reached this part of the Rachna Doab, and the countryside around it is still organised the way the colony organised it: square chaks, each one a number, laid out along a canal branch. Faisalabad is about fifty-five kilometres up the road and is the city this district actually uses; Toba Tek Singh is twenty-five the other way, Samundri and Kamalia within an hour. In the town itself the places families name are the chaks, Samundri Road and Jhang Road.
The grantee families who were settled here came down from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Sialkot and Gujranwala, which is why the names across these chaks are mostly Jat and Arain: Sandhu, Cheema, Virk, Randhawa, Gill, Bajwa, Sahi, Bhatti and Tarar among the Jat lines, with Arain, Kamboh, Rajput, Gujjar, Awan, Sheikh, Khokhar and Mughal households alongside them, and Syed and Qureshi families carrying their own standing. Caste, biradari and sect are open fields on every profile, so you can match on them before you approach rather than after.
On ByahMe, a Gojra profile shows everything a family actually needs to judge a match: age, height, education, profession, caste and biradari, sect, family type, father’s occupation, and written partner preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those unlock only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging, no back-and-forth with strangers.

What makes a Gojra search different
A chak number without its branch letter is half an address
Out here the village is a number, and the number is not unique on its own. Colony chaks were numbered along each canal branch, so the full address carries a letter as well — the branch — and the same number recurs on more than one branch across this belt. A profile that says Chak No. 293 and stops has told the reader something that cannot be placed on a map, and in a district where families genuinely do recognise one chak from the next, that is a real loss.
So write it in full: the number, the branch letter, the tehsil, and the district. It takes four extra characters and it turns an unplaceable profile into one that an elder two chaks away will recognise immediately — which in this belt is often how a match actually starts.
The same care applies to the town name itself. Gojra is a tehsil of Toba Tek Singh district, so the identity documents and degrees say Toba Tek Singh while the family says Gojra. Write both somewhere on the profile, and when you are searching, run Gojra and Toba Tek Singh as two searches rather than assuming one covers the other. Kamalia and Samundri are worth the same treatment.
Faisalabad is fifty-five kilometres away and is the search most families here under-use
Families from the chaks around Gojra tend to search the chaks around Gojra. That is understandable and it is also leaving the largest part of the realistic pool untouched. Faisalabad is an hour up the road, people from this district already go there for the hospital, the university and the wholesale market, and it is not only bigger — it is a different economy, with textile, trade, teaching, medicine and engineering households that a farming family from a chak sometimes assumes are out of reach when they are not.
It works in both directions, and that is the part worth saying. A great many Faisalabad households are one generation out of exactly these chaks and are looking for a match with a family whose background they recognise. If you are in Gojra, open Faisalabad properly. If you are in Faisalabad and your family came from a chak, these are your people.
When the household lives on Gulf earnings, ask who decides and what happens after
A large number of households in and around Gojra have had a man in Saudi Arabia or the Emirates for most of a working life, on contract after contract, home for a month a year. That pattern has built a lot of what you can see in these chaks, and it shapes a rishta in two ways that are worth naming plainly.
The first is who actually decides. In a household where the father has been abroad for twenty years, the mother has usually been running it — the land, the schooling, the money, the proposals. A family that addresses a proposal to the father because he is nominally the head, and waits for an answer he will not be the one to give, can lose weeks for no reason. Ask, politely and early, who in the family the conversation should be with. Nobody is offended by that question.
The second is the difference between a remittance house and a remittance income. A large, finished house in a chak may represent earnings that are already over — contracts end, visas are not renewed, and men in their fifties come home for good. So the fair question is not what the family has built but what the household will live on in five years: is the land enough, is there a business, is a son earning, is there a pension from anywhere. Most families here have a straight answer, and the ones who do are usually glad to be asked something sensible rather than something ornamental.
And if the proposal is a groom currently on a Gulf visa, the questions are the practical ones: how many months a year he is actually in Pakistan, how many more years he intends to stay on that visa, which household she would live in while he is away, and who decides about money and the children in the meantime. A Gulf work visa is not settled residence abroad and the two should not be read as the same proposal.
In this belt a girl's education is ordinary, so write the level exactly
The colony districts send a high share of their village children through school, and a matric or an FA on a profile from a chak here is unremarkable rather than exceptional. Which means vagueness costs you. Educated tells a reader nothing; matric, FA, BA, BSc, B.Ed, a nursing diploma, a two-year teaching qualification — each of those tells them something precise, and in a district where many families are comparing similar profiles, precision is what makes one stand out.
The other half of the same question is what happens to it after the wedding, and it is better settled before. If she teaches, or intends to, or wants to finish a degree she has started, write it. If the groom's household does not want a working daughter-in-law, that household should write that. Two plainly written sentences on this subject save the argument that otherwise arrives in the second year.
What the town does for work, written plainly
Wheat, rice, sugarcane, maize, cotton and fodder on the chak land, with dairy and livestock through all of it. The grain market and the trade around it, which is what Gojra is to the surrounding chaks. Workshops, agricultural machinery and transport. Teaching, health and government service. Skilled and semi-skilled work in Faisalabad, an hour away. And the Gulf, which has been part of this district's household economy for two generations. On women's profiles from Gojra teaching comes up most, with health work and government service behind it.

Profiles connected to Gojra
The six questions a Gojra family asks first
Which chak, with the letter
The number alone does not place a village, because the same number recurs on other branches. Write the number, the branch letter, the tehsil and the district.
Biradari
Sandhu, Cheema, Virk, Randhawa, Gill, Bajwa, Sahi, Bhatti, Tarar; Arain, Kamboh, Rajput, Gujjar, Awan, Sheikh, Khokhar, Mughal; Syed and Qureshi besides.
The land, and how it is held
How many acres, owned or on lease, still joint among the brothers or divided — and whether a daughter's share has ever been transferred.
Where the income comes from
The land, the market, a job in Faisalabad, or a contract in the Gulf. And if it is the Gulf, how many more years that is good for.
Education, stated exactly
Matric, FA, BA, BSc, B.Ed, a nursing or teaching qualification. In this belt educated on its own says nothing.
Sect
An open field on every profile, so apply it early rather than discovering the difference at the third meeting when both families have started to assume.

Searching from Gojra, in practice
Run the town, then the district, then Faisalabad
Set your city to Gojra and leave the country filter on Pakistan. Then run Toba Tek Singh, because that is the district on everybody's papers and a great many profiles from these chaks will be written under it rather than under Gojra. Only after both searches is the local pool as small or as large as it looks.
Then open Faisalabad, properly rather than as an afterthought — it is an hour away and it is where most of the realistic pool actually is. After that, Samundri, Kamalia and Jaranwala along the colony, and Jhang across to the west. Filter biradari and sect first if those matter to your family, then education and profession.
If the proposal comes from abroad
Two different things reach these chaks under the same word. A Gulf work contract is not settled residence: ask the months in Pakistan, the years left on the visa, which household she would live in, and who decides about money and the children meanwhile. For genuine settled residence — Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia — set the residency field to citizen or permanent resident, and read it as the different proposition it is. Overseas families with roots in this belt search back into it constantly, which is why writing the chak properly matters more here than almost anywhere.
What is open on every Gojra profile
- Age, height, marital status and children
- Sect, biradari and mother tongue
- City, area and residency status
- Education, field of study and profession
- Family type, family class, parents' occupations, siblings
- Written partner preferences, in their own words
What stays locked
- Photographs, until that member accepts your request
- The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
- The email address and the exact address, always
Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.
Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
