How to write a rishta profile that actually gets responses

We see a great many profiles, and the ones that get few accepted requests almost always share the same problems.

Problem one: the About section says nothing. "I am a simple person from a respectable family looking for a suitable match." This describes roughly ninety percent of the membership. It tells a reader nothing they can act on.

Write instead about what your household is actually like. What you do on a Friday. What you are studying or building. What kind of home you want. Three specific sentences beat ten generic ones.

Problem two: preferences that are impossible. A 34-year-old groom seeking a 21-year-old doctor from a specific biradari in a specific city who is willing to move abroad has described a person who may not exist. Narrow preferences are legitimate; contradictory ones simply produce an empty search.

Rank your criteria. Decide which two or three are genuinely non-negotiable, and treat the rest as preferences.

Problem three: incomplete profiles. A profile missing education, family background or partner preferences reads as evasive, whether or not it is. Members filter these out first. Completing every field is the single highest-return thing you can do.

Some smaller things that help.

A complete profile with every field filled in gets noticeably more accepted requests than a sparse one.

State your immigration status precisely if you are overseas. Vagueness here is read as concealment, correctly, most of the time.

If the bride intends to keep working, say so on the profile. It saves two meetings.

Nominate a guardian contact if it makes your family more comfortable with the process. It signals seriousness rather than reluctance.

And update the profile when something changes. A stale profile gets fewer requests than an honest one with a modest job description.
