Rishta in Doha
Doha is Qatar — nearly everyone in the country lives in this city or the towns that have grown into it. The Pakistani community here runs on gas, aviation, healthcare, education and construction, and three things decide a household: whether he works in the city or out at the gas plants, what shape his roster is, and whether the whole wedding has to fit inside one block of annual leave.
Matrimonial matches in Doha
Pakistani households sit mostly around Al Sadd, Najma, Mansoura, Old Airport, Umm Ghuwailina, Bin Mahmoud and Muntazah, with a great many families further out in Al Wakrah, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal and Al Khor, where the rent is lower. The Industrial Area holds the workshops, yards and a very large share of the men who live here without their families.
The work divides into blocks. Gas and energy, which is the engine of this country — engineers, operations and maintenance staff, inspectors, planners, contractors and the shipping around it, much of it out at Ras Laffan and Mesaieed rather than in the city. Aviation, which here means one very large airline and one very large airport: engineers, ground handling, cargo, catering, operations and cabin crew. Healthcare, across a big public hospital system and a growing private one. Education, which is unusually substantial for a country this size. Construction and engineering, still significant although no longer the boom it was. And around all of it the trade, retail, hospitality, transport and workshop businesses that Pakistani families here own or work in.
Most families plan the wedding in Pakistan and return to Qatar afterwards — which sounds simple and is the thing that most often goes wrong. The last section below explains why.
On ByahMe, a Doha profile shows everything a family actually needs to judge a match: age, height, education, profession, caste and biradari, sect, family type, father’s occupation, and written partner preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those unlock only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging, no back-and-forth with strangers.

How to read a Doha profile properly
The gas towns, and the week away
The biggest single thing a Doha profile can hide is that the man does not actually live in Doha during the week.
Qatar’s gas industry is concentrated at Ras Laffan in the north and Mesaieed in the south, with Dukhan on the west coast, and these are industrial towns rather than places families browse for a match. A great many engineers, operators, technicians and contractors work there on a rotation — a block of days on site in company accommodation, then a block at home — while the family lives in Doha an hour or two away. Others commute daily on company buses that leave before dawn.
None of that is a problem in itself, and these are good, well-paid, long-tenure jobs. But it is a particular kind of marriage and it should be described rather than discovered. So ask: where is the work actually located, is it rotational or daily, what is the pattern and how many nights a week is he away, is there company accommodation at site, and does the family live in Doha or near the plant. Then ask the question that belongs to her: when he is away, who does she have, is there a car, and can she reach a doctor, a grocer and other Pakistani families without him. Our Perth page goes through what a rotation does to a household in more detail; the same applies here.
And the employment question that runs through the whole Gulf: is the salary paid by the operator or by a contractor supplying it. The first usually means a staff package and years of tenure. The second usually means a project with an end date on it.
The airline, the airport, and the roster
Aviation is to Doha what oil is to Dammam, and a large number of Pakistani families here are attached to it in one way or another — engineering and maintenance, ground handling, cargo, catering, operations control, security, retail inside the terminal, and cabin crew.
If the work is on the ground, the questions are ordinary ones: shift or office hours, which rotation, and is it with the airline itself, the airport, or a handling or catering contractor, because the packages differ a great deal.
If the profile is cabin crew — and a number of Pakistani women on this site are — then be specific rather than vague, because this is a career with its own shape. Crew typically live under a roster published a month at a time, work nights and long-haul patterns, and are away for several days at a stretch; junior crew are often housed in company accommodation with rules attached. For a marriage that means planning around a roster neither side controls, and it means asking plainly what happens after the nikah: does she intend to keep flying, does the household support it, where will they live, and if she stops, what does that do to the family income and to her own standing. It is a straightforward conversation that goes badly only when nobody has it.
One more, for any family where a woman works: her residence may be sponsored by her own employer rather than by a husband, which is a stronger position than a dependant permit. If that is the case now, ask what happens to it after marriage, because transferring sponsorship is a decision with consequences and it should be a decision rather than a default.
What the money is, under the headline
Qatar pays well and taxes nothing, which is why families come. But the number quoted on a proposal is not the number that reaches the household, and the gap is where disappointment lives.
Ask for the package in parts. Basic salary, because the end-of-service gratuity is calculated from it and because family sponsorship eligibility is assessed on it. Housing — provided, allowance, or his own cost, and if an allowance, whether it is paid monthly or annually, because Doha rents are high and a year of rent commonly falls due at once. Transport, and whether a car comes with the job. Schooling allowance, how many children it covers and to what level, because the private school sector here is expensive and there is no free alternative for expatriate children. Annual tickets, and whether they are for him alone or the whole family — this one decides how often she sees her parents. And the medical insurance: who it covers, what the maternity benefit is, whether there is a waiting period, and which hospitals are in the network.
Then the part that is not on any payslip. There is no pension here. The gratuity is a lump sum, not a retirement, and everyone leaves eventually. A Doha household that is saving and building something in Pakistan is in a completely different position from one that is spending what it earns, however similar the two look on a biodata.
The wedding, the leave, and the thirty days that have to hold everything
Almost every Doha marriage is arranged around one block of annual leave, and this is the single most useful thing on this page.
The pattern is familiar. He has perhaps three or four weeks a year and a ticket home. The nikah, the rukhsati, meeting both families properly, the walima, the photographs, the visits to relatives in two cities and whatever honeymoon there is must all fit inside it — and so must the paperwork, which is the part nobody budgets time for. Then his leave ends, he flies back, and if the attestation and the family permit are not finished, she stays in Pakistan. Three months becomes six. Six becomes a year. A great many Gulf marriages begin with a separation nobody intended, and most of them were avoidable.
So plan it backwards, and start months before the date. Before he flies, confirm that he actually qualifies to sponsor her — the salary and the profession written on his residence permit, as our Qatar page explains. Get the nikah nama registered with the union council immediately after the nikah rather than at the end of the trip, because the computerised certificate, the foreign ministry attestation and the Qatari mission attestation all follow from it and each takes its own time. Make sure the names match exactly across her passport, her CNIC and the nikah nama; a single spelling difference stops everything. Collect several attested copies while you are both still in Pakistan. And agree, out loud and in front of both families, who is doing which part of the paperwork after he flies back — because once he has gone, somebody in Pakistan has to keep walking it through the offices.
One kindness worth building in: if a separation is going to happen anyway, say so honestly at the start and agree how long it will be and how often he will visit. A bride who is told the truth about a six-month wait copes with it far better than one who was promised three weeks.
An hour from the whole Gulf, three hours from home
Doha is the country, so there is nowhere else in Qatar to widen to. When the local pool is not enough, go outward rather than sideways — and from here, outward is close. Manama is about forty-five minutes by air, Dammam around an hour with the land border at Abu Samra open as well, Dubai and Abu Dhabi an hour or so, and Kuwait City and Riyadh about ninety minutes. Every one of those households lives the way this one does — a residence permit, a sponsor, school fees, a ticket home once a year — so two Gulf families understand each other without explaining anything.
And Pakistan is three hours away. Doha flies direct to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Multan and Sialkot, several times a day, on one of the best-connected airlines in the region. Qatar runs two hours behind Pakistan with no clock change on either side, so the evening call lands at a civil hour in both houses. Set your own city to Doha and the partner preference country to Pakistan, settle the sponsorship and the leave planning above before anything is agreed, and arrange to meet in person early — from here, that is a weekend.

Member details are never published on a public page. Register free and the search opens with full biodata on every profile.
Filter down to Doha
Set the city and you see only Doha profiles — which in Qatar means almost everybody. There is no second Qatari city to widen to, so when you need more, open Bahrain, the Saudi Eastern Province and the UAE.
Full biodata, openly
Education, profession, biradari, sect, family type, parents’ occupations and written preferences are all visible to members. Nothing important is held back behind a paywall.
Photos stay locked
Nobody in Doha or anywhere else sees a photograph or a number until that member personally taps Accept. That rule has no exceptions and no administrative override.

Searching from Doha, in practice
If you are looking locally
Set your city to Doha and leave the country filter on Qatar. Doha and the towns around it — Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Umm Salal, Al Khor — are one search, and together they are very nearly the whole country. There is no second Qatari city to widen to, so when you need more, the cities listed below are in other countries: Manama is forty-five minutes by air, Dammam about an hour with the land border open as well, Dubai an hour, Kuwait City and Riyadh around ninety minutes.
Filter on biradari and sect first if those matter to your family, then on profession and education. Doing it in that order saves the conversation that ends badly at the third meeting. And in this city, ask where the work actually is before you ask what it is.
If you are looking for a match from Pakistan
Set your own city to Doha and the partner preference country to Pakistan. One correction first, because the residency field misleads people across the Gulf: there is no Qatari citizenship or ordinary permanent residence to hold, so the honest answers are a work residence permit sponsored by an employer, a permit held through his own company, or a student visa — and a student visa does not let him sponsor a wife. Then check two things rather than one: the current minimum salary for family sponsorship, and whether the profession written on his residence permit is in a category allowed to sponsor family at all. Our Qatar page explains both, along with the attestation chain the nikah nama has to go through.
What is open on every Doha profile
- Age, height, marital status and children
- Sect, biradari and mother tongue
- City, area and residency status
- Education, field of study and profession
- Family type, family class, parents’ occupations, siblings
- Written partner preferences, in their own words
What stays locked
- Photographs, until that member accepts your request
- The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
- The email address and the exact address, always
Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.
Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
