Rishta in Sheikhupura
Two districts share this name: the factory strip that is really part of Lahore, and the basmati country behind it. A search that does not know which one it is in will not go well.
The strip and the district
Along the Lahore road — Kot Abdul Malik, Ferozewala, Muridke, Sharaqpur — Sheikhupura is effectively Lahore's industrial edge, and the families there live, work and marry on Lahore's terms. Behind it lies the district proper: Sheikhupura city, Safdarabad, Farooqabad, Khanqah Dogran, Jandiala Sher Khan, and basmati land in every direction. Same district, two quite different marriage markets, and the useful first step is knowing which one you are searching.
The names run through both. Virk, Sandhu, Cheema, Bajwa, Gill and Randhawa among the Jatt clans, with Arain, Rajput and Bhatti, Kamboh, Gujjar, Kharal, Awan and Sheikh families throughout. All of it is an open field on the profile, which is the practical point: nobody has to raise biradari in a phone call when it is written down before the first contact.

What makes a Sheikhupura search different
The Gulf question nobody asks early enough
A great many men from this district work in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and Qatar, and that is a normal and respectable way for a family to get ahead. But it changes the shape of the marriage completely, and the question that decides it is almost never asked at the first sitting.
How many months a year is he actually in Pakistan? For how many more years does he expect to go? Will she live with his parents while he is away, or in her own house, or with her own family? Who makes decisions about money and about the children when he is on the other side of the Gulf for ten months out of twelve? None of that is a reason to decline a proposal. All of it is a reason to ask before the nikah rather than discovering it in the second year.
Put the honest answer in the written preferences on the profile. A family that says plainly "works in Dubai, home two months a year, expects to return for good in about five" will get fewer enquiries and far better ones.
"Business" is the vaguest word on a profile here
This is an industrial district, and in rishta terms that single word covers a very wide range. It might mean a family that owns a unit on the industrial estate, or a rice mill, or a trading firm in the grain market. It might equally mean a supervisor's post in somebody else's factory, or a shop. All of those are honourable; they are simply not the same proposition, and a family reading "business" will either assume the most or assume the least, and both are usually wrong.
Write what the business actually is, and whether it is owned or worked in. It costs one line and it removes the question that otherwise gets asked awkwardly by a third party two weeks later.
Rice land, the mill, and the difference between them
This is basmati country, and among the landed families standing is counted in acres under rice, with wheat behind it. But the mills are the other half of the economy, and owning the land is not the same as owning the mill that processes it, which is not the same as trading the paddy. Anyone from the district reads those three differently and instantly.
Say which, and say the acreage and the tehsil — Sheikhupura, Safdarabad, Ferozewala, Muridke, Sharaqpur. Nankana Sahib was part of this district until 2005 and families on both sides still treat it as the same country, so include it when you widen.
Lahore is forty minutes away, and the two sides read that differently
A Sheikhupura family treats Lahore as next door. A Lahore family often treats Sheikhupura as out of town. That asymmetry is worth knowing before you are hurt by it: proposals going towards Lahore sometimes meet a hesitation that has nothing to do with the match itself.
The practical answer is to be specific about where the couple would live and how far it actually is. "Kot Abdul Malik, twenty-five minutes from Thokar" settles the objection before it is raised. Vagueness invites the assumption that it is a long way out.
What the district does for work, written plainly
The industrial estate and the plants along the Lahore road — pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, food processing — employ in volume and at every level. Around them sit the rice mills and the grain trade, agriculture through the rest of the district, government and teaching posts, and the Gulf employment already discussed. Write the employer and the role rather than the category, because in a district like this the two are read very differently.
What a Sheikhupura profile shows you is everything needed to judge all of that: age, height, education, profession written out, biradari, sect, mother tongue, area and tehsil, residency status, family type, family standing, father's occupation, siblings and written preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those move only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging.

Decide which Sheikhupura
The Lahore strip and the farming district search differently. Set the area, then widen to Lahore, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Kasur and Nankana Sahib before you loosen the biradari.
Full biodata, openly
Education, profession, biradari, sect, family type, parents’ occupations and written preferences are all visible to members. Nothing important is held back behind a paywall.
Photos stay locked
Nobody in Sheikhupura or anywhere else sees a photograph or a number until that member personally taps Accept. That rule has no exceptions and no administrative override.

The six questions a Sheikhupura family asks first
Two of these are asked here more sharply than anywhere else on this site. All six are answered on the profile before you approach anybody.
Biradari
Virk, Sandhu, Cheema, Bajwa, Gill, Randhawa among the Jatt clans; Arain, Rajput or Bhatti, Kamboh, Gujjar, Kharal, Awan, Sheikh. Asked first, and in the district it still decides most of what follows.
Strip or district
Kot Abdul Malik, Ferozewala, Muridke and Sharaqpur live on Lahore’s terms. Sheikhupura city, Safdarabad, Farooqabad and Khanqah Dogran do not. Say which.
What the business actually is
Owned or worked in, and what it makes or sells. The single most useful line you can write on a profile from this district.
Land, mill or trade
Acres under rice, a mill, or the paddy trade. Three different standings, read instantly by anyone from the belt.
Is he abroad, and for how long
Months a year in Pakistan, years still expected, and where she would live meanwhile. The question families here most often leave until it is too late.
Sect
Sunni or Shia and the subsect within it. An open field on the profile, so it can be filtered before anyone approaches rather than after.

Searching from Sheikhupura, in practice
If you are looking inside Punjab
Set your city to Sheikhupura and widen it early: Lahore first, because half the district already works there, then Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Kasur and Nankana Sahib. The same clans run through all of them, so widening the map costs you nothing while loosening the biradari costs you the thing you were filtering for.
Filter on biradari and sect first if those matter to your family, then on what the family actually does for a living. Doing it in that order saves the conversation that ends badly at the third meeting.
If the proposal involves the Gulf
Set the residency field, not just the country, and then ask the questions set out above before anything is agreed. A permanent resident in Canada is a settled life abroad. A work visa in Dubai or Riyadh usually means a husband abroad and a wife here, for a number of years that nobody has written down. Both are honest arrangements; they are simply different marriages, and both families deserve to know which one is on the table.
What is open on every Sheikhupura profile
- Age, height, marital status and children
- Sect, biradari and mother tongue
- City, area and residency status
- Education, field of study and profession
- Family type, family class, parents' occupations, siblings
- Written partner preferences, in their own words
What stays locked
- Photographs, until that member accepts your request
- The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
- The email address and the exact address, always
Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.
Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
