Rishta in Frankfurt
Almost a third of Germany’s Pakistani community lives in Hesse, and this is its centre — Frankfurt, Offenbach and the towns along the S-Bahn, with Pakistan’s own consulate in the middle of it.
Matrimonial matches in Frankfurt
The one German city where a Pakistani family can do the whole paperwork without leaving the region.
Pakistani families here are spread across Gallus and Bockenheim inside the city, and then out along the river to Offenbach and Hanau. Professionally the profiles cluster in banking and finance, engineering, IT and trade — which matters, because most families searching a rishta in Frankfurt filter on profession before anything else.
Two things make this city different from the other three on our German pages. Pakistan’s Consulate General is here, not in Berlin, which is where the attestations and the NADRA work actually get done. And Frankfurt is the kind of labour market where a great many husbands hold the particular permits that exempt a wife from the German language certificate entirely. Both facts change a timeline, and neither is obvious from a profile.
On ByahMe, a Frankfurt profile shows everything a family actually needs to judge a match: age, height, education, profession, caste and biradari, sect, family type, father’s occupation, and written partner preferences. What stays hidden is the photograph and the WhatsApp number. Those unlock only when the member accepts your request — one request, one decision, no messaging, no back-and-forth with strangers.

What a Frankfurt rishta actually involves
Written for families on both sides: those already here looking locally, and those in Pakistan weighing a proposal from a man in the Rhine-Main. None of it is immigration or legal advice, and every figure should be checked on the official site before you rely on it. It is the ground a careful family covers before anything is promised.
Gallus, Bockenheim, and the line that runs to Offenbach
Inside Frankfurt itself the community sits mostly west and north-west of the centre — Gallus, around the old trade fair ground, and Bockenheim near the university. Both are ordinary working districts with a Turkish, Balkan and South Asian mix, and a profile with one of those postcodes tells you very little about income. Gallus in particular has been rebuilt around the Europaviertel, so two addresses three streets apart can mean entirely different rents.
The bigger point is Offenbach, and families in Pakistan consistently misunderstand it. Offenbach am Main is not a Frankfurt suburb. It is a separate city with its own mayor, its own registry office and its own foreigners authority, and it has one of the highest shares of residents with a migration history of any independent city in Germany — the city’s own monitoring puts it at a little over sixty-seven per cent. Its population has grown from under a hundred and forty thousand in 2019 to over a hundred and forty-five thousand by 2024, and that growth is driven by exactly the arrivals our members are part of.
For a marriage search Frankfurt and Offenbach are one pool. The S-Bahn joins them in about ten minutes and families move between them constantly. For paperwork they are two different administrations, and which side of the line he lives on decides which registry office holds the marriage file and which office issues the residence permit. Ask for the actual address, not the city name. On our filters, search Frankfurt and leave the area field open rather than narrowing it.
The consulate is here, and that saves a family three trips
Pakistan maintains its Embassy in Berlin and a Consulate General in Frankfurt. For families across the south and west of Germany, the Frankfurt mission is where the consular work happens: attestation of documents, powers of attorney and affidavits, NICOP and POC, the family registration certificate, passport renewal, birth registration for children, and the renunciation and reclamation of nationality.
This matters more than it sounds. A Pakistani marriage file assembled in Germany involves a chain of attestations, and a family in Munich or Hamburg will often be making a day of it each time. A family in Frankfurt or Offenbach is a tram ride away. If a proposal is being weighed between a man in Frankfurt and a man elsewhere in Germany, and the paperwork is going to be heavy, that is a genuine practical advantage rather than a sentimental one.
Be aware of what the German side will not do, though. The German Embassy in Pakistan states that it cannot attest or legalise a Pakistani birth certificate or marriage registration certificate. Verification is handled its own way, it is charged for, and the mission may ask for the rupee equivalent of a substantial fee to carry it out. No amount of Frankfurt convenience removes that step.
A Frankfurt income, and what the authority counts as one
Family reunification requires that the household’s livelihood be secured and that the accommodation be adequate. In a banking city the first of those is usually easy and families assume the whole thing is settled. It is the second that trips people up.
On income, what the office wants is documentary and regular: the employment contract, recent payslips, the annual wage tax statement, bank statements over several months. A salaried position in finance or engineering produces all of that automatically. A trading business, a restaurant, a shop or a self-employed consultancy does not, and a man with a genuinely good income from his own business will often have a harder file than a junior employee on half of it. If the proposal is from a business family, ask early what the accountant can actually produce.
On housing, the rule of thumb the authorities apply is a floor area per person — in practice around twelve square metres each is the figure commonly cited, with the detail varying by Land and office. Frankfurt rents are among the highest in Germany, so a man on a good salary may still be in a flat too small to pass. Sorting the flat before the application is cheaper than sorting it after a refusal. He will also need the registration certificate from the city, issued within the last six months, and that depends on having the landlord’s written confirmation of the tenancy. No registration, no certificate, no file.
Her degree, the anabin entry, and the word Approbation
Almost every family in Frankfurt eventually asks the same question: will she be able to work. The honest answer is that it depends on a database entry and on which profession she trained for, and that both can be checked before the nikah rather than after.
Germany keeps a public register of foreign institutions and qualifications. An institution rated positively, with the degree evaluated as corresponding, is generally enough on its own. Where the rating is mixed or the degree is not clearly listed, the next step is an individual Statement of Comparability from the central office for foreign education, which costs in the region of two hundred euros and takes as long as it takes. Look the university up before you look at anything else. A Pakistani BSc from an institution that is already rated positively is worth a great deal more, practically, than a better degree from one that is not.
Then the division that really decides her life here. For most engineering and IT work the profession is not licensed, so a comparability finding plus German plus an employer is the whole route. For medicine, nursing and teaching it is licensed, and the licence — the Approbation for a doctor — is granted by the Land, not by Berlin. Hesse runs its own process, with its own language requirement at a professional level well above A1, and an equivalence examination where the training is not accepted outright. A Pakistani MBBS is a long road in Germany, and it is a road many women do walk, but it is years rather than months. A family that tells a doctor’s daughter she will be practising by next summer is misleading her.
When her mother wants to visit, and what that file needs
Nobody raises this before the nikah and everybody needs it within the first year. A wife who has moved to Germany will want her parents to come, and Frankfurt is the German city they can actually reach — the airport is the country’s main hub and the Gulf carriers all serve it, so the journey from Lahore or Karachi is one connection rather than two.
The visitor visa is a Schengen short-stay and the German mission in Pakistan publishes exactly what it wants. Current and all previous passports, signed. Health insurance covering every Schengen country with a minimum cover of thirty thousand euros. Either a letter of obligation issued by the German foreigners office, which must be no more than six months old, or an informal signed invitation from the host with copies of his passport, residence permit and registration certificate. Confirmed return tickets. Bank statements for the past six months and salary slips for the last three. The family registration certificate. A list of relatives living abroad, on the mission’s own template. And copies of every previous visa refusal — the mission says plainly that failing to disclose one is itself grounds for refusal.
Two practical consequences for a family weighing a proposal. The letter of obligation means the husband takes on financial responsibility for the visit in writing, so this is a commitment, not a formality, and it is worth asking whether he is willing to give it before anyone talks about mehr. And because the stay is a Schengen stay, a visa issued by Germany lets her parents travel on to the rest of western Europe while they are here — which for a Frankfurt household, with Paris and Brussels an afternoon away, is a real gift to give in-laws who may only make the journey once.
Where a Frankfurt search widens to, in order
Start with the Rhine-Main itself — Frankfurt, Offenbach, Hanau, and the towns between them. That is one travel-to-work area and one marriage pool, and it is larger than the profile count for any single city suggests.
Then the rest of Germany, remembering the distances: Munich a little over three hours by fast train, Hamburg about four, Berlin about four. These are real journeys, not evening drives, and a family should be honest about how often the two households will actually meet.
Then outward, and this is where Frankfurt beats every other German city on this site. Paris is reachable in an afternoon, Brussels likewise, Amsterdam not much further, and the Pakistani communities in all three are well established. Our Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam pages carry their own profiles, and a Frankfurt family that opens the country filter to France, Belgium and the Netherlands will usually find the pool it wanted. Finally, back to Pakistan, which remains the most common overseas search made from this city.

Profiles connected to Frankfurt
The six questions a Frankfurt family asks first
Frankfurt or Offenbach
One marriage pool, two administrations. Gallus and Bockenheim inside the city, then Offenbach and Hanau along the river. Ask for the address, because it decides which registry office and which foreigners authority handle the file.
Which permit, exactly
Not what he earns — what the residence card says. Some permits exempt a wife from the German language certificate outright. Two men on the same salary can be on opposite sides of that rule.
Salaried or in business
Finance and engineering produce payslips, a wage tax statement and bank records without being asked. A shop or a trading firm does not, and the livelihood test is documentary. Ask what the accountant can actually produce.
The flat, not the salary
Adequate accommodation is a separate test, judged on floor area per person. Frankfurt rents are among the highest in Germany, so a good income and a small flat is a common and avoidable refusal.
Her degree, in the register
Look the university up in the official register before anything else. Positively rated and the route is short; not listed and it means an individual comparability statement, a fee and a wait.
Biradari, sect, and the long view
Caste and sect are open fields on every profile, so you filter before you approach rather than after an awkward conversation. Ask also where the children will go to school, and in which language.

Searching from Frankfurt, in practice
If you are looking locally
Set your city to Frankfurt, leave the country filter on Germany and leave the area field open so Offenbach and Hanau come through. That is the real pool, and it is bigger than the city count suggests. Widening to the other three German cities is worth doing, but be honest that Munich and Hamburg are three to four hours away on the fast train.
Filter on biradari and sect first if those matter to your family, then on profession and education. Doing it in that order saves the conversation that ends badly at the third meeting.
If you are looking for a match from Pakistan
Set your own city to Frankfurt and the partner preference country to Pakistan. Before anything is agreed, settle three things in this order. Which permit he holds and how long the card still runs. Whether that permit exempts her from the A1 certificate or whether she needs to book the Goethe-Institut exam now. And whether the nikah will be registered with NADRA, because the mission asks for that certificate as well as the nikah nama.
A Frankfurt household also has one genuine advantage worth using: Pakistan’s Consulate General is in this city, so the attestation chain costs a tram fare rather than a day of travel.
What is open on every Frankfurt profile
- Age, height, marital status and children
- Sect, biradari and mother tongue
- City, area and residency status
- Education, field of study and profession
- Family type, family class, parents’ occupations, siblings
- Written partner preferences, in their own words
What stays locked
- Photographs, until that member accepts your request
- The WhatsApp number, until a connection is accepted
- The email address and the exact address, always
Public cards on this page carry a reference such as BM-PK-1042 rather than a name, and none of it is written into the page itself — the listings arrive after the page loads, from a feed marked noindex, so no member is filed in a search engine under their own biodata.
Photo requests are free. A number request uses one connection token, which is returned in full if the other side declines.
